About Us: We're a nationally recognized, Top 20 Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm in the U.S. that's in the process of bolstering our Tax Services team. As one of the country's premier independent wealth management firms, our firm specializes in serving high-net-worth & ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, family offices, and closely held businesses. Our in-house tax team is viewed as strategic advisors - not just a compliance function - working alongside investment, estate planning, and family office professionals to deliver refined, year-round tax planning.
Contrary to other WM tax teams, you'll work across the client's entire portfolio, including their trusts, partnerships, closely held businesses, and investment entities, allowing you to provide holistic tax planning and advice instead of working in a silo.
If you're looking to step away from the rigid public accounting environment while staying involved with high-level tax planning rather than high-volume compliance in a client-focused environment with no billable hours, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
What You'll Do:
Serve as the primary tax advisor for a portfolio of HNWIs, families, and family offices
Review complex Individual, S-Corp, Partnership, and Fiduciary tax returns
Provide proactive, year-round tax planning - not just compliance
Partner closely with investment advisors, estate planning professionals, and family office teams to deliver integrated solutions
Build trusted, long-term relationships with a manageable client base in a no-billable-hour environment
What We're Looking For:
Ideally 7-10+ years of public accounting experience (OR within a WM Tax department)
At least 1-2+ years of Management experience
Strong technical knowledge of complex 1040, 1120s, 1065 (family-investment), and 1041 (trusts) returns
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA, EA, or JD designation required
Nice to Have:
Master's Degree in Taxation
Estate (706) and Gift (709) experience
What We Offer:
Competitive base salary: $150K - $220K (DOE)
Annual Discretionary Bonus (Up to 15%) + 401(k) w/ match
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
FSA, HSA, and Life Insurance
Unlimited PTO policy + all standard holidays
Maternity/Paternity leave
No billable hours
