<p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>We are looking for a skilled, experienced, and creative WordPress & WebFlow Designer and Developer to join our growing web experience team. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>To be considered for this role, ALL applicants must include a resume with a minimum of 3-5 examples of the most impressive and/or complex WordPress sites you’ve built from scratch yourself.</strong></p><p><br></p><p>----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</p><p><br></p><p>As a WordPress and WebFlow Developer at Grit & Gravel, you’ll be responsible for the full maintenance and management of our clients’ WordPress or WebFlow sites—including updates, troubleshooting, optimization, CRM integrations, and custom development. You'll collaborate closely with project managers, development & SEO team, and graphic designers to ensure a seamless and easy experience for our clients.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>General Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Build, manage, and maintain a variety of WordPress and WebFlow websites</li><li>Implement client-requested changes including content updates, new pages/sections, and design tweaks</li><li>Troubleshoot site issues and implement solutions quickly and effectively</li><li>Proactively look for potential user, device, and security issues on our sites</li><li>Perform regular updates to plugins, themes, and WordPress core</li><li>Ensure all sites are secure, responsive, and optimized for speed</li><li>Collaborate with the design and content team to build new pages or sections</li><li>Set up staging environments and manage deployments when needed</li><li>Monitor uptime, performance, and backups across all hosted properties</li><li>Recommend improvements for functionality, UX, and scalability</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Technical Skill Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Experience: 5+ years of professional experience with WordPress and/or WebFlow development and maintenance</li><li>Languages: Proficiency with PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress APIs</li><li>Page Builders: Must be proficient with tools like Elementor, WPBakery, or Gutenberg</li><li>Themes: Must be able to modify child themes, work with templates, and build themes from scratch</li><li>Plugin Management: Confident in installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and updating plugins when needed.</li><li>Staging & Hosting: Must be comfortable with staging environments and cPanel/hosting platforms</li><li>SEO: Understands technical SEO (like sitemaps, meta tags, schema) and how site structure affects ranking.</li><li>Site Speed Optimization: Can diagnose and fix slow sites using caching, image compression, and code cleanup.</li><li>Security Best Practices: Familiar with securing WordPress sites (firewalls, permissions, malware scans, etc.)</li><li>Functionality: Knowledge of advanced custom fields (ACF), custom post types, etc</li><li>Analytics: Expert with site analytics and performance tracking tools (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console)</li><li>Design: Ability to develop a page that perfectly matches a high-fidelity design provided by a designer. Also able to create subsequent pages or sections matching the aesthetic of the rest of the site without an exact design to follow.</li><li>DNS & Domain Management: Ability to update DNS records, set up redirects, and launch sites properly.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Soft Skill Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Task Management: Organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and sites with varying levels of complexity at the same time. Must work within an already established project management system.</li><li>Communication: Can communicate and explain technical points to non-technical clients in a way they can understand and make sense of to make decisions.</li><li>Cross-Team Collaboration: Works well with project managers, designers, copywriters, advertisers, and SEO strategists</li><li>Solution-minded: Able to solve problems and provide a clear solution for the client</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Nice to Have</strong></p><ul><li>Agency Experience: Experience working with marketing or creative agencies</li><li>Version Control: Familiarity with Git or platforms like GitHub/Bitbucket is a plus</li><li>Design: Skilled in UX/UI design</li><li>Senior Living: Experience working with senior living owners and operators</li><li>Platform Experience: Zapier, ActiveDemand, Further, WelcomeHome CRM, & HubSpot </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>About Us</strong></p><p>Grit & Gravel is a comprehensive fractional marketing department, or marketing agency, that partners with senior living operators throughout the US and UK.
